If you value your time and money then stay far away from 1and1. They tried to renew my domain names on an expired credit card and when that failed, they sent 1 email which was filtered by gmail's spam...

instead of taking my domains offline and placing them in redemption, they left my domains online for 3 months after the expiration date and then sent me to a collection agency and made me pay the redemption fee, renewals and an admin fee to the collection agency despite not placing my domain in redemption.

It is a scam. they locked my domains for months and refused to let me transfer them even after I paid their collection agency. Only after I caved in and provided them with an alternate credit card even when I didnt owe them any money did I finally get access to my domains.

It was simply a waste of time. I had to file 2 complaints with the BBB and with ICANN and finally got my money back last week roughly 6 months later.

stay away!
Reviewer Rating: 1

Hopefully, this is allowed, but while I can't speak for their hosting services (I use another host), I do use 1and1 for all my domain name registrations. By far, they have the best prices on the Net. For only $6.99 per domain (.com TLD), you also get FREE privacy. I haven't found another place that can beat that!

I must say that I also recently canceled some of my domains that I didn't want anymore and the process was a little cumbersome. But now I know what to do if I have to do it again. Otherwise, it's easy to register, it's cheap and private, and easy to redirect to your host.
Reviewer Rating: 9

I have hosted a few sites at 1 and 1 for a year or two. I have enjoyed having my sites there until they no longer supported Front Page. I don't recall getting sent any notification that they were going to stop supporting this product, so it took me off guard and I am having to change all my websites over. Which is not fun. Other than this issue, I have been pleased with 1 and 1 in other aspects.
Reviewer Rating: 7
