I've used GoDaddy hosting for a few years now and for dozens of websites. I've never had any down time, their customer service is great, their prices are ridiculously cheap, and few other web hosts offer such easy, 3-click installs and upgrades for server applications and databases.

I also help a number of new bloggers getting started and am often asked to recommend a hosting service. Particularly for new bloggers, I suggest GoDaddy. For all the reasons above, but particularly because their WordPress integration saves hours, potentially days of work if you use their WP (or other blogging platform) install/upgrade option. Click. Done. Doesn't get any better than that.
Reviewer Rating: 9

I was contacted by the admin of this website to elucidate the masses on a post I made about GoDaddy on my blog (here: http://www.pressuretobear.com/?p=194).

I have been hosting my Wordpress blog on GoDaddy shared hosting for the past year or so (you could see how quickly or slowly it loads by clicking on a link to the site).

It isn’t the best service in the world, but it is cheap as Hell ($3.99 a month). This price buys you service that is somewhat less speedy than other websites in the world, but that is to be expected when it costs significantly less than any other hosting provider (approximately half the amount).

The service is bare-bones, but real people call you a couple times a year to remind you that they have 24-hour tech support. They even seem easy to reach and understanding via the phone.

The first six months I was hosted by this provider, the service was quite flaky, and sometimes I couldn’t use my Wordpress dashboard or my webpage would be inaccessible. Other times, it was slow as molasses to make either render fully. More recently, the service has sped up considerably due to movement on host servers.

If you don’t really care about your website being the speediest thing on the planet, GoDaddy is a decent choice for hosting.
Reviewer Rating: 6

GoDaddy is an excellent domain register and offers good hosting for basic sites. I have never found a company to offer domain names so cheap. GoDaddy does not handle php very well on their budget servers. Their customer service is not always the best, as many times the wrong support is given or their techs give out incorrect information. Overall I will rate GoDaddy at a 5 as a web host, as flexibility is a must for me, and multi-platform options are needed.
Reviewer Rating: 5

I have had 2 websites hosted here for a few years. I have been pleased with their services. I recently changed one of the websites to 1and1, because I had a package there and room for another site. I was disappointed to learn that 1 and 1 had recently changed and no longer supported Front Page. I had to change my whole site.

Currently Go Daddy still supports Front Page, which is great for me.
Reviewer Rating: 8

I currently use GoDaddy for my domains and hosting. For the most part, I think they are great.

The prices are very affordable. I like that you can host unlimited web sites under 1 account at a great rate.

I have two minor issues with GoDaddy. The support is hit or miss. Sometimes you get someone who knows what they are talking about, other times they are just clueless and are more worried about trying to sell you something.

Also, it seems that hosting phpBay and BANS sites isn't the greatest...I'm starting to have issues with my sites that utilize phpBay and BANS. Sometimes the pages load, sometimes they don't. I read that it has something to do with the database server not being local.

But, like I said, for the most, and for the past 2 to 3 years, I have been very happy with GoDaddy as both a domain registrar and host.
Reviewer Rating: 8
